havent had a chance to use it but it looks very sturdy. the orange tint is kind of unique and the size of the watch, unlike the other G-shocks, is reasonable and quite slim. the only thing i would have changed was the glossy wristband. i much prefer the ordinary matt look.

I have had this watch for about a month now and it is the first sports watch that I have ever purchased so it makes it difficult to compare to other watches of its kind. I will say that I am very happy with the choice that I made. After reading several reviews on watches I picked this one and it is living up to all my expectations. The watch is pretty easy to program once you do it a couple of times and I use the alarm function quite often now to remind me of appointments. I hope that anyone who buys this is as happy as I have been. Good luck.

This watch is awsome. It has 5 alarms, stopwatch, automatic calendar, timer, light, and is waterproof. What more could you ask for. It feels very sturdy and is definately no cheap Drug store watch. I have owned 3 to 4 hundred dollar watches and this one takes the cake. Simple yet sophisticated design, comfortable, and less than 75 bucks shipped express. There is no better deal out there, I've searched. All in all this is no TAG but for the money it blows away all the other watches in this price range and even more expensive ones. Don't think just buy it, you wont regret it.

I just got the watch today through the post and I am impressed so far- it has a cool blue backlightand the functions are easy to use. Its also not too chunky-a good thing if you're doing sports with it on.
Another thing I like about it is the colour- its quite a dark blue compared to some of the other Baby G watches which are more pastel in color.
Also some of the proceeds go toward helping marine wildlife!

The watch is good if you live in sunny CA. If it's not always in the light, then it dies out real quick. When we were living in Germany, we really had a hard time keeping this watch going. Now that we are in CA, it's not so much of a problem. The band is weak and will break shortly after getting it. That is, if you wear it all of the time like my husband did. Not a bad watch for the price though.

G - Shock - GW1200BA1AV (Size: men) Review

This is my second G-Shock; my first is still chugging right along even after going through basic training, and 4 years of active duty abuse.I've had my first G-shock for about 10 years.First and foremost when we are talking G-Shock we are talking INDESTRUCTABLE.I mean back over it with a jeep, drop it over 60' onto concrete, getting it ripped off my wrist leaving me bruised and bloodied before a pin in the strap bent enough to pull loose, and finally fill it with sand and water in the desert...G-Shocks just do not quit. Other watches in the field, Timex, Seiko, etc don't have nearly the ability to weather rough conditions and treatment and come out looking and working great.

This new G-shock promises more of the same but in a more visually interesting package stuffed full of techy goodness. The bracelet and the case are standard G-shock bulky (this is no small watch) but instead of the chunky black plastic there is very nice looking two/three tone metal.From a looks standpoint it really stands out when compared to the rest of the G-shock type watches.I get lots of positive comments and questions about this watch which brings me to the coolest and most aggravating aspect of this watch.

SWEET BLUE LED lights...Yeah it's freaking cool!BUT, it's pretty useless...The lights are placed at 3 and 9 on plane with the face, so when lit the light hits the hands of the watch at about 90 degrees and fails to shed light on ANY of the recessed digital readouts effectively.I mean, the BLUE light is super cool and is great for lighting dark hallways, but it just doesn't do it's job nearly as well as the old school "indiglo" type of background illumination. It's frustrating that Casio didn't get this worked out better. Timekeeping?Flawless, I am up in the North West and the watch has no problems communicating with Ft. Collins CO.Needless to say the watch is super accurate.

Power source?The Solar seems to work pretty well and I have yet to have a concern regarding power.The face mounted power meter lets you know where you stand and thus far even in the Cloudy Northwest there have been no power concerns.

Functions?Well there really isn't a whole lot offered but the basics are all here and they work very well.Buttons all have the standard "firm" G-shock feel to them and work well.

Overall I couldn't be happier, the Blue LED illumination is not all that effective but it's unique, the case and bracelet have a quality look and feel to them, and the watch has a great over all feel to it and should last forever.

For what it is it might seem a little spendy for this category of watch, I mean it really is just a pimped up G-shock after all, but with its Atomic and Solar features along with the handsome looks and serious toughness it's a fair value.

Four out of five stars ONLY because of the poorly executed out but SUPER COOL Blue LEDs.

I'm a little disappointed that the watch doesn't have a more substantial feel and that the band isn't a little more heavy duty, but actually it only takes a few minutes to get used to the weight of the watch and the fact is that titanium watches are becoming more common so weight is not so much of a guarantee of higher quality.

I think the watch looks great.

The manual is thick only because it is written in several different languages, so the only relevant section is pretty concise and the main functions are easy to locate and master.Some of the other features are a little more complicated, but within a very short period of time you can get the basics down, get the watch calibrated and set, and it is ready to wear.

Even if the watch doesn't pick up a signal for a month, it will only lose or gain twenty seconds, which is very accurate in its own right.

This is one of six watches I own presently, that are working, at least, and I'm proud to add it to my collection.

Other reviewers seem to have unrealistic expectations for a watch that, while retailing for lots more, cost a mere thirty dollars, especially one that performs as this one does.

This watch is really good looking, and very functional. Like otherCasio ana-digi watches, it takes some getting used to in terms of setting the time, date, etc. My particular watch holds the time extremely well, I am surprised however that the "Atomic" radio reception for automatic time keeping was not incorporated in this design. At this price, that should have been included. The "World Time" funcionality is very useful, as I often travel overseas or contact people there, and thus quickly knowing what time it is over there is very helpful.The solid hands are also better than many other watches, they stand out clearly against the dark face backgound. I hope and expect it will serve me for many years to come.

As an obsessive watch wearer, who does not take it easy on watches (wear it 24-7, rock climb & take care of 2 kids under 3yrs old who pull at my watch), I have wanted a "baby G" for about 5 or 6 years now.In the past I've typically worn a Timex Ironman & Triathlon.While I've never had problems with the actual timekeeping components, i can't make it more than 9-12 months on a watch band.I was hoping that perhaps since G-shocks 'thing' is it's indestructable..ness...it would carry over to the band as well. I've only had it a few weeks, so not sure how that will pan out.Seems quite sturdy.I was also pleasantly suprised to find that it doesn't look or feel as massively large on my wrist as I expected it to (though it is by far the largest watch I've ever owned).

My problems however are as follows & I suppose I should have "read the fine print" a bit more before buying...made too many 'assumptions' from being used to Timex.

1. The indiglo does not allow more than 3 seconds of light.This means that if I forget to set my alarm after I've gone to bed, I have to get up & turn on a light to do so.I realize this is to conserve battery power, but it has annoyed me more than I expected (see #3 to know why I would need to 'reset' my alarm regularly).

2. There is no 'countdown timer'!!How can this be?What kind of sports watch has only a chrono?A G-shock apparently.I use timers incessantly & this is the biggest issue I have & clearly should have checked to make sure before buying.

3. There is only one alarm option.This is also more annoying than I would have expected.I really got used to the option to be able to set 3 different alarms with my triathlon (morning alarm, "yogurt is done incubating" alarm, "time to get the kids up so you can get to the gym in time" alarm...the list goes on.I'm doing a million things at once & loose track of time easily).

4. This is not really a problem, but a thought I had so figured I'd share: the address 'book'?In the age of cell-phones...quite unnecessary.6yrs ago when I did not have a cell (I was a late adapter), I thought it was an incredibly cool feature.However,I have not even attempted to use it (it would take hours to set that up!).

5. Another feature I don't get is the 'day alarm' or whatever it's called.You can set a date (years in advance) for an alarm to go off which you can label.I suppose if i had trouble remembering my anniversary or something??

Overall, it works fine & looks great, but it does not have the functions I really need (again...sports watch!) & has a few that I really don't need (who needs their mom's phone # while jogging?).Perhaps it's just not marketed to a 29 year old mother of two trying to fit in workout schedules & feeding schedules & using a watch as cooking timer (so I can leave the house while bread is rising & not carry around an egg timer to remind me to get back home!).I'm guessing it's geared more toward highschool/early college gals who are not training for sports competition?I'm going to try to sell it on craigslist & go back to my beloved triathlon (& deal w/the "weak" bands).

***10/9/08 update:I never did get around to selling it & thus have been stuck with the things that annoy me.But thought i'd update on the resilency:It's been just over a year & i'm just as abusive to this watch as any other i've owned & all pieces are still completely intact & showing no signs of wear.However I must add that my husband apparently disagrees on the largness aspect.He thinks it's massive & is not a fan.;)hopefully this means i'll get a timex for christmas ***

I've only had this watch for a few days, but I have to say that I love it so far.I'm a watch guy, and I've never really bought a watch of this type before.I've always bought more dressy or sport watches.Most of the reviews on here are right on the money.The watch is light on the wrist, and comfortable.The buttons are a tiny bit tough to push, but nothing of any concern whatsoever in my opinion.The atomic sync is awesome... totally awesome.Mine syncs up on the nightstand (every day at midnight) & no where near a window. I find this model to be very attractive looking for what it is, yet still tough/rugged.I don't think I'll be the guy who's overly rough with it, but I did buy it for every day wear and tear around the house, at the gym, and outdoor activities... It seems to be the perfect fit.It's not over-sized at all in my opinion.Highly recommended so far.I'll make an attempt to report back in after a couple of months.

G - Shock - DW66001V Review

The DW 6600 is a good looking piece! Once you open the box, the watch looks much better than in most of the pictures posted on the Internet. Unlike the DW6600C-1V, the DW6600-1V does not have the G on the watch face background. Things that I like about this watch, besides its good looks, are:

*The chronometer's "target time" feature.
*The chronometer's "auto-start" option.
*Change between 24hr format and military time with the press of a button (in only 1 step).
*The Casio G Shock toughness and quality.

I hope that Casio keeps producing this great G-Shock classic on years to come. Recently, I have been looking at the DW6600C-1V model and that G on the display looks cool! I might add it to my collection :)

Finally, I have to add that buying through Amazon was a nice experience. My purchase was delivered on time and as promised.

Casio - G-Shock - Atomic Solar Review

I bought the GW1210A 2AV which is the same as this watch only a different color brand new (paid $220 a year ago as it listed for $300+) and just so you know as of the time of this writing the GW1210A model is no longer sold by Casio anymore. There is a very good reason for that.

Theoretically this is a great watch. It has so many wonderful functions, that is. . .when it works. It has been in the Casio shop for SEVEN months (it never worked right from the begining). The first time it was repaired it took 2 moths but when I received it back it did not work right in other areas that worked before. I sent it back again and it has been five months and counting! I just heard from the techs who told me they cannot repair it. They broke two watches and have gone through several modules (the gizmo that runs the electronic features)trying to get it to work. It is not the techs, it is the watch.

The Casio service department has been a nightmare. They do not call back when they say they will. In fact they have NEVER called back until today. I have a 7 month long log of all the calls and promises they have made as to when the watch would be ready. ALL of them were not kept and they had the attitude that I was bothering them.

For months I have been asking for a replacement watch or at least that they would extended the warranty for another year from the point when I received the watch back-- Casio has said, "No" until now since after 7 months they cannot fix it. They cannot replace this model as they say they do not stock it anymore. So I am now having to negotiate with them on a replacement watch. The GW1200 is the only comparable watch. It has the same wonderful features but has a different module, so hopefully it will work. I asked for that watch but they have said they do not have that watch either. I will report back when this is finally resolved.

If you buy a G Shock get one of the cheaper watches. That way you will not be out much money and maybe the simpler style watch will work better. I've had great luck with their cheap watches.

Casio sent me a how to adjust file and according to its description, this type should be just pushing the pin out, but even Walmart cannot do it with pin removal tool.

You'll never get me to spend a lot of money on a watch after wearing this thing.Digital, solar, atomic and well under a hundred bucks.Quite a cool little gadget.I've had this for 2 years and still love it.

Solar means that it charges the battery with ambient light.No batteries to replace.Atomic means that it receives the atomic time radio broadcasts at the top of the hour from Midnight to 5am.The clock displays REC while it's calibrating.Takes about 5 min each time to calibrate.Every day, your watch is dead on.Forget daylight savings time changes.This watch does it for you.

The only extremely-minor annoyance with the watch is travelling to Europe and looking at the watch only to see REC filling the display for 5 minutes around lunch time.I'm sure there's a way to turn the receive mode off temporarily.The watch only receives the atomic signal from Boulder CO in the 48 contiguous states.

Will this last forever?Don't know yet.Two years and no setting, winding, or battery changes needed so far.

I've received numerous "I love your watch" and "where did you get that watch" comments since wearing my white G Shock. It's a real eye catcher for sure. Especially if you have dark skin or are rocking a tan. I love the G Shock line. I can't wait to get this model in different fun colors. The white is awesome for sure. The only heads up is that the small band that is used to hook the other side of the watch into has turned a little yellow. But it's no biggie given the rest of the watch is still bright white after some wear and tear.

This is my 3rd G shock in 20 years... Yes, they last a very long time.I replaced my G-2900, which is by far, my favorite, because the band broke.I got this G2900F-3VDR because it was on sale and looked nearly exactly the same as my G2900.The color is like a dark military brown.Love it.The only thing I miss is the metal button that you push to backlight the face.It is plastic in this model, and makes it look just a little cheap.Otherwise, I still love this watch!

TX16G14, Timex watchband, Fits Casio G-Shock/Tri-Graph 16mm Review

The description that this watch band fits Casio G-Shock is incorrect. I purchased this item to replace the original 16-mm band of a Casio G-Shock Model DW-5600E (The Classic). The Timex TX16G14 does not properly fit this watch. The 16-mm width is correct but the recesses molded into the band where it inserts into the body of the watch (at the spring bars) are not large enough to properly seat the band. The spring bars can be forced into place but the watch band then rigidly sticks out on both sides of the watch in the same plane as the watch body, and doesn't wrap snugly around the wrist (i.e., there is a large gap between the band and one's wrist on either side of the watch body). Subsequent research on other websites show that the various G-Shock watches have specific fitments for the 16- and 18-mm bands. I recommend identifying the Casio model number for the band that properly fits your watch and order the original factory band (which is more expensive) instead of this generic ill-fitting item. I did so and the new replacement band (with Casio factory replacement band number 71601288) fits perfectly.

Wave Ceptor Atomic Watch Review

I'm a ham radio operator, and a stickler for accurate time (often setting my old digital watch to WWV on the Shortwave Bands and having considered myself lucky to have discovered a $30 Timex digital with ~1 second variance in about 1 weeks time by setting the time on the watches at the store, and coming back a few days later and checking for variation). I currently own two other WWVB (60kHz) time pieces at home with varying results (regarding reception/sync). I was a little cautious about a watch being able to recieve this very longwave signal, but it does. I live in Oklahoma City (barely within the supposed 600 mile daytime range of WWVB), and haven't had much luck with it during the daytime, but haven't had any trouble getting it to manually sync and autosync at night when I'm asleep. Last night it didn't - and I think that's because my PC on the otherside of the wall from the head of my bed puts out a tremendous amount of Radio Frequency Interference (I notice this on Shortwave, and it is just as likely to happen over the WWVB signal since my atomic clocks don't like to sync near the PC either). However, the fewtimes I've been on the otherside of the house (e.g. kitchen) and manually sync'd - it worked most of the time.

What I really like about this watch - besides the autosync feature - is that you can set a dual timezone - and they have one that is for GMT (Greenwich Mean Time - a.k.a. Universal Coordinated Time). Unlike the LON (London) timezone, try as I might, GMT won't accept a Daylight Savings Time adjustment ... which is a GOOD thing! So - next time I'm logging a contact on the radio - I just press one button and have the current GMT time to write in the log (handy for pilots also!).

Something not evident in any of the photos of this watch - it looks like it has a black dial face - but it is actually semi-transparent. At night, when I push the light button - I can actually see the Hour and Minute hands silhouettes in addition to the digital display at the bottom - all backlit with a aqua-green Elecroluminescent glow. Otherwise, the dial normally looks like a flat black dial. There is no second hand - which isn't a big issue. The light does not stay on as you hold the button down (power saving feature). All it takes is a momentary press, and it stays on for a little more than 1 second (definatly less than 2 seconds).

Another cool feature is that you can adjust the minute hand by '20 second' steps. That means there are 60x3 (or 180) little steps the minute hand takes each hour around the dial. Every 20 seconds, the minute hand makes a small 2 degree jump. This is pretty cool in my book. After I made a simple adjustment in the hand position, I've left it alone, and it's doing great! (The analog watch always sticks with the primary digital time zone - so switching to the secondary time zone view does not change your analog watch.)

There is a type of countdown timer - but it is based upon a target alarm setting (NOT like the type of timer that counts down on your microwave oven where you tell it 30 minutes and watch it countdown). However, if you've set the "target alarm" for 8 AM for when you're supposed to be at work (or set it for when you get 'off' work at 5:30), and you click over to the target alarm and activate it, and it is 10:30 at night... it tells you that you've got 9 hours and 30 minutes until you've got to be at work (sorta handy). I guess if you're into space shots - you can treat this as a handy reminder of the launch taking place into space - or if you're a ham operator waiting for an anticipated satellite flyover - set it and you can see when it is getting close. The time you set rolls over every 24 hours - so it will repeat this every day until you change it.

I've tried setting the 'Snooze' Alarm for early in the morning (when I ought to get up - but often sleep through) - and it hasn't stirred me yet. The snooze alarm, as I understand it, is supposed to repeat up to 7 times every 5 minutes (i.e. if I set it for 5:30 AM, it should go off at 5:30, 5:35, ..., and 6:00 unless I stop it). The hourly 'Signal' is two little pips - a little longer delay than I'm accustomed to hearing on most casio watches. Whenever an alarm does go off - it lasts for only 10 seconds. I gather this is an attempt to conserve battery power (supposedly rated at 2 years - but probably closer to 12-18 months if you take quite a few peeks at the dial using the light and make use of the autosync feature).

There's also a feature for tagging the current time into a memory. I haven't used this yet, but I think it would come in handy if you just started a contact and weren't able to log down the time that it started (or stopped). It could also come in handy if you were traveling and needed to gauge roughly when you left and when you arrived.

I happen to have bought the metal band version at a local super-retailer, and it was a good idea because the jewelry department lady had to remove three of the band links to get it to fit well (it was way too big for my wrist - and I'm not a small person).

If you are a world traveler and change your primary time zone to something other than the four main time zones in the Continental U.S., then be prepared to lose the ability to have autosync work. I guess the watch is only designed to work with the U.S. time transmitter. When you set the primary timezone to something outside of the U.S., it assumes you are too far to be in range to sync to the automic clock, and hence - you're stuck manually setting the time (and manually adjusting DST) as needed.

My only concern is that they don't have a dual analog/digital with the Atomic sync feature AND solar. The G-Shock's have them ... but they are way too big for my tastes (unless I was really active). This watch looks great in the office with out looking like a kid's timepiece.

A pity we had to send this back. It is a great looking watch face. The size is not as large as some Baby-G's (like the one my wife wore out previously and loves) which is a good thing. The problem we had was the chain strap. We were expecting an all-metal chain. The actual chain alternates between white-plastic and metal, not our cup of tea. I can see this now in the picture. The alternating chain material is much more apparent/contrasting on the actual item. We'll have to find another Baby G!

The window is made of plastic, not crystal.After a couple of days use, I already got some scratch.The plastic window makes this watch look tacky.Casio should have used glass with this type of classic design.

Other than that, (almost) everything as described.Looks nice and works fine.
Time calibration is done early in the morning, once a day (not four times a day as in the description, which I guess excessive).For a digital watch, maybe once a month would be acceptable.
Very light-weighted, probably thanks to the plastic window.
Buttons are somewhat inconvenient (hard to push) but with automatic calibration I seldom touch anything.

Overall, I am pleased with this watch.Nice styling, seems to be solidly constructed etc.It functions very well; I'vee had no problems at all with syncing with atomic clock (in New Mexico).Most functions are intuitive, though I had to spend a few minutes with the manual.Dual time function is good if you have to keep track of a second zone.Very comfortable, high quality flexible rubber strap, easy to read glowing hands, very cool LED backlight.

The only "con" is that it takes a while to move to some modes, especially Alarm and Dual time.The hands need to go forward or back to time of the setting, which can take a while. I'd also like to see a solar powered version, as I worry about battery life a little, with the hands having to move so much.

Having owned two previous G-Shocks in my life (including the first series in 1984), I've long appreciated their quality.The main reason I stopped wearing them was simply because the resin straps would break, and having worn them for 4 years I grew weary of them.However, having burned through many fashion watches in the last 10 years I've been disappointed to spend $$$ only to get 1 or 2 years' worth of usage.So I'm back to G-Shock.I think this model (G1710D-7AV) represents a nice blend between good looks and practical durability...which most guys really want.The face is smaller on my wrist than I expected from a G-Shock, but I think it's still classy for the office.The side buttons are hidden in gray plastic (which you can't see in picture), but the rest of the watch is metal.You might find a classier analog-face G-Shock in the $200 - $300, but this one is a better value!The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the LED isn't backlight.It's an amber light that comes around the inside bevel.So the LED helps you read the dial hands, but not the LCD screens.Nonetheless, it's still a cool light color.PS- the bottom LCD screen isn't blue as pictured, but it's still a different color than the top LCD which adds further distinction to the watch.

This watch is beautiful and while it is not small it certainly is the smallest woman's atomic watch I've seen. I've had the Casio woman's atomic G-shock with the pink face for over two years now and it has been well worth the $250 spent. I don't anticipate any problems with this one either. I did take me a while to understand how to get the hands calibrated properly, but it works great now.

Casio General Men's Watches Casual Tide Graph Sport W-753-2AVDF - WW Review

I decided I wanted a decent-sized yachting watch with the tide shown on it as I thought it would be handy for sailing. I looked around and discovered there are huge differences in prices for watches and as I couldn't justify spending much, after some study I ended up choosing the Casio Sea Pathfinder. Now I don't know much about brands but I do know that Casio isn't a cool brand but, hey, getting this much watch for less than twenty pounds, I couldn't complain. The Amazon price was significantly cheaper than prices in the various chandlery mail order catalogues (now there's a surprise!). Please note there is a blue strap version (the one I chose) and a black strap version which I think are the same watch (at least the same innards) but slightly different visually.

So, what's the watch like? Firstly, I'm a woman (albeit a large one!) and some men's watches look ridiculous. This one is fine, it's got a large face but not enormously so and a curved glass top so it feels smooth. There are four large buttons, two either side, which are easy to press. The main display (usually the time) is easy to see and very clear, the tidal and lunar displays less so, although you get used to reading the watch face.

There are a number of different modes including time, dual time (i.e. two different time zones), moon (how many days into the moon), 5 alarms, stopwatch and countdown timer. Interestingly I've found myself using the countdown timer when cooking (rather than a normal cooking pinger) because it's very easy to set. In fact all of the options on the watch are easy to set - once you've found out your lunitudinal interval. This mystery number helps the watch know the tidal states but the little instruction book that comes with the watch only gives general lunitudinal interval locations, such as 'London'. Armed with a set of tide tables and the watch, I discovered that London is significantly different to Eastbourne (Sovereign Harbour) tidal times. The thing I hadn't realised before buying this watch is that you can dial in the date and time and it will tell you the tide at that point, it doesn't just tell you the tide right now, so I was able to check the calculations up till December this year. Eventually, after some googling, I found a table of lunitudinal intervals along the South Coast of England. It didn't include Eastbourne but did have some other locations and, with a little trial and error, I managed to find the best lunitudinal interval which meant my watch tides agreed mostly with the Tide Table tides. And so far the tidal display seems reasonably accurate - it's nowhere near good enough to use for sailing planning but is a helpful quick check when you're thinking about walking on the beach (will the dog be able to play in the rock pools or will they be covered up?) and for general interest.

Being a digital watch it does have the unfortunate problem that when wearing polarising sunglasses (as I do when sailing) it's hard to make out the LCD display, but this is also true for the log, depth display, radar etc on the boat and isn't the fault of the watchmaker, just something to bear in mind.

Battery life is supposedly 10 years but most people will be bored with the watch by then and have moved onto the next one. The light lights up the face in the dark (what more do you need), the beeps for the alarms are loud enough to wake me, the watch overall seems perfectly adequate and it looks good. I think if I'd paid fifty pound I would have been very happy, for less than twenty it's a complete bargain. Go for it!

This is a very cool watch.It is tough, reliable, and gets the job done.The atomic function synchronizes the watch to an atomic clock in Fort Collins, CO every night (it tries four times).The solar portion makes sure that you'll never have to change the battery again.I love how the display of the watch is reversed, it doesn't make it more readable (actually, kind of the opposite), but it is rather cool.The watch crystal is recessed, so scratching it will be pretty hard.The watch has some weight to it, but it is not too heavy.The watch is big though and you may have a problem getting it under a sleeve.Otherwise, a great purchase and decent price (I got mine from Costco for $80).

This watch just arrived and I already love it. The face is thicker than my previous watch, so I hope I won't hit it on anything. I like the low-profile watches so that I can wear it all the time with the least discomfort and fewer scratches and scrapes.

The photo shows the numbers in red, WRONG! The numbers are black but the light illuminates them in pinkish-purple.

The buckle on the band seems cheap but the watch wasn't expensive so I predicted that. Overall, I am excited to have it.. It makes me feel like a rockstar or a rapper!

Great watch from Casio. I was attracted by the reverse LCD display which is very unique. It is well made and I wore it for both mountaineering and for swimming in the sea. It is a tough watch. But because I like it so much, sometimes I am afraid to bring it out too often to avoid any scratches!!

You need to read the manual to get going but after that it is pretty easy. Don't let the thick manual intimidate you as it is fairly well written.

Good points:
Cool looking solar watch, does not need a battery
Has lots of features
Good quality material and strap
Lighting up the reverse LCD is cool

Negative points:
May be too bulky for women
If your eyesight is not good, you may not be able to see the time properly
Functions such as thermometer, barometer etc do need some light to work
The world time would not automatically adjust for daylights saving (I think this is asking too much)
For the obsessive, it is not exactly as accurate as battery powered quartz watches, but this is nitpicking

After reviewing this watch, seeing it in the watch store for well over $300.00 I decided to make the purchase on Amazon.It came within a few days without any shipping issues and for the record, I've never had a problem with Amazon shipping. Anyway, the watch has everything you could want in a normal everyday watch. The band is titanium, so it's strong enough to handle the banging of everyday wear. As it should, it has a digital compass, indigo back lighting, it tells the time, date and year along with the position of the moon. This watch has many features that you may or may not use but I will say it has a look is unmatched by other watches within it's class. It does has a big face and I would not suggest it for scuba diving. It does have a sealed case so once the battery goes out you will have to send it back to the manufacturer. I am very happy with my purchase and I suggest it to anyone who is considering purchasing this timepiece. As with anything else, your mileage may vary (YMMV). I hope this helps. NEOSOUL

I'm tough on watches and constantly break the wristband pins or face crystal. These Casio driving watches are some of the toughest watches I've owned, and have purchased 2-3 similar models over the last 15-20 years. They are very durable and can take a beating. I'm not a diver, but the water resistance is a big plus with working in the garden or washing the cars.

I'm not a big fan of the digital clock that added on this model because I like a classic looking diving watch, but I use the date function and I've grown to like it.

I bought this watch to replace a Casio G-Shock that I received as a gift.The reason I went with this model was that it had three essential features I was looking for:Easy to read hands, military time markings and most important, a digital date window.

Comfortwise, the watch is light and feels great on my wrist.

Functionally, I found the nontraditional method of setting the watch to be a little confusing.It doesn't use the standard pull-out style wheel but instead all functions are controlled by two buttons.So, instead of turning a wheel to set the hands, you press one of the buttons to set the hours, minutes, seconds, etc.I understood that part of the operation.But what at first baffled me was how to first calibrate the hands in order to move on to set the time.Quite frankly, I'm still not sure how I did it as I just kept following the instructions over and over, thinking I was doing the same thing.Finally, something must have clicked and things fell into place.

I've noticed that a few times the clasp has pulled off the band (pulled up, not detached from) when getting caught on something.I found this phenomenon to occur only on this watch and although mildly annoying, not a deal breaker.

In summary, while it's not perfect, few things in life are and the trade off is worth it.If you're looking for an easy to read, comfortable, relatively hassle free watch with digital day/date function, this is a good contender.

I wear this watch when I work.I do physical activities such as lifting and I'm constantly using my hands. So far (about 2 months) this watch has held up quite nicely.There's some scratches but that's to be expected and I don't really care because it was so inexpensive.

As far as looks.. The circular seconds display thing is kinda gimmicky but overall, imo, the watch has a nice look it.The time is very easy to read and when it's dark, the "illuminator" light works well.It's also so easy to set that the manual is hardly needed.

The only qualm I have with this watch is that the securer for the band somtimes comes off.. but I suppose that's just a function of me wearing it at work where I'm so active.

I could not find any reviews on it but decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did - it's a great watch. Got the watch in a matter of days. Shortening the steal band was a cinch. The picture on Amazon do not do this watch justice. It has a hefty feel and looks good on the wrist. The black ion plated steel watch and band has a stealthy look. I feel this is an exceptional value at 100 Bucks!

Some things you should know.

1. My watch lasted 1 week past the warranty.

2. If the watch gets too much light or gets too warm it goes bad. You can't tell if it needs recharging because the power gauge stops working. The only way to know the power is low is if it resets and looses all its data.

3. Adding phone numbers and other info via TWO buttons is a long and painful process.

4. When the watch goes nuts and looses all of your phone numbers, time and other settings, you become a little nuts yourself.

Since "atomic" watches contain radio receivers, they've been too big for me. This one is just slightly thicker than a standard watch. The radio reception is great. The directions say to place it near a window for setting, but when daylight savings time came, I was sleeping nowhere near a window & it was set correctly when I awoke.

It is one of the better looking digitals I've seen. The digits are well formed from lots of dots, so a 3 does not look like an 8 with some bars removed. With all the progress in LCD displays, I cannot imagine why watch makers have stuck with such antiquated technology. The buttons are in the standard places for a Casio but are recessed so it doesn't look quite as geeky. The band is preformed to curve so it fits even my skinny wrists well.

The alarm is a gentle beeping sound that stops on its own after 10 seconds or so. If you need more to wake up to, it may be too quiet. For me, it's perfect.

My only complaint is that it shows you either the month/date or the day of the week but not both at once. A single button push changes that view. It always shows you the seconds passing. All in all, a very nice watch!

I was looking for a legible alarm watch. My vision is not so great and I wanted to set alarms to take vitamins throughout the day. I got the pink Baby G watch. The band is very pale pink, very pretty, it's a well made watch, has five alarms, one that will buzz every five minutes for about a half hour. I wish the alarm itself was a bit louder. Sometimes the face is hard to read if you're in the light of day, need darker area to see the light in the pink watch because the face is pink and the light looks pink. Maybe should have gotten the white one, but this is working out great.

Casio Men's Wave Ceptor watch #WVQ550SGA-1AV Review

I bought this watch because it looks great and gets the time updates from Fort Collins, Colorado. The watch is heavier and bigger then some watches I own so if this bothers you beware.

I initially had trouble getting the time update from Fort Collins using the manual update feature. Finally I was able to get the signal at night using this feature. I have another atomic watch which had no trouble getting the update during the day. It does get the signal updates each night and the watch keeps perfect time.

The gold bezel is easily scratched so you need to be careful. In the picture you may think there is some gold in the band. This is an optical illusion. The band is all silver. The minute markers between the large five minute markers are hard to see on the dial. I usually can tell the time from the position of the hands. I don't use the stop watch feature or the alarm but I have tried each to make sure they were working. If you plan on using the stop watch beware that the hand to show the minutes passed is hard to read.

The watch feels solid and of good quality.

Casio Men's G-shock MT-G Atomic Solar Watch #MTG900DA-9V Review

There are no instructions on how to adjust the metal band. The band is ridiculuously large.
I don't know whose wrist it is suppose to fit. Unlike other manufacturers like seiko where
you can adjust the band by moving a spring loaded rod along a metal clasp which has lots of holes in it and covers a distance
of an inch and a half or more.This watch has metal clasp with only 3 holes over a distance of less than a quarter inch. The only way to adjust this band is to take it to a watch repair place and have the links removed.
Note that Amazon includes a "watch care & returns" brochure which states that "watches that have been resized or otherwised altered will not be accepted for return". Ain't that a catch 22?

This watch is great. It is shock resistant, water resistant, and mud resistant. Its a very tough watch. It also seems to be very accurate. It comes with many features like the dual stopwatch, countdown timer, and world time. The illumination is amazing and can be set to flash on alarms. I love the design of the exterior and the face. The band is rather long, can definitely fit any wrist. The bumps on the back of the watch felt a little strange in the very beginning. Also, the buttons are a little hard to press, but they are seriously no big deal. I was thinking about not buying this watch due to all the complaints of that, but the buttons aren't that tough to press. It may taking a very short time to break in, and it was somewhat frustrating to set up the watch. However, if it remains a problem, you can take off the bezel to boil it and make it softer. This watch is listed as the G9000MX8DR, but I received the G9000MX8CR. There is absolutely no difference at all between the models. It doesn't matter which you buy on Amazon. I'm very happy with my purchase and plan to use my watch all the time.

When I tried to manually adjust the time, it broke, so I sent it back for a new one. The second watch couldn't set time zones correctly, so I sent it back also, and then bought a watch from another company.

Casio customer service is only available during limited hours. If you get them on the phone, they're pretty good, but email support isn't very helpful (if they reply at all).

I'd be willing to pay more for a watch that actually worked and had decent customer service, but Casio is clearly all about quantity and not quality. I was verydisappointed with this purchase and wish I haddn't wasted all that time.

This product is a very good value for the money.However, there are a couple of things I would change on it.The LCD is not high enough contrast and is difficult to read in all but the best lighting. The time zone setting is always showing in the digital time and alarm mode, this is unnecessary.There is no backlighting for the LCD so in low light it is useless in all but bright light.

I purchased this watch because it was cheap compared to the G-Shock series and I thought it looked good without being too bulky. After a 3-4 monthsof daily use I found that the little round metal time winder on the side of the watch was popped out of place. No matter how much I try to jam it back into place, it would constantly pop back out, causing the time to be displayed inaccurately or just causing the watch to not function altogether.

I have had 2 other G-Shock watches before buying this one. The only reason it was 2 is the battery died and after 7 years the watch had served me well, so I just replaced it. I had though about buying an atomic/solar Casio for awhile before the purchase. After recieving the watch and learning how to operate it, I wish I hadn't waited so long. It's a great looking watch with the toughness that I have come to expect from Casio. These are watches that will stand up to everyday wear and abuse with out missing a beat. I especially like the light, you can set to run off a button or to turn on when your wrist is turned toward you to look at it. I like the look of analog watches, but enjoy the benifits of a digital. Which makes this watch a home run. The only slight I could even make is the band fit on my wrist. This somethingthat I find common in this style of band, so if a perfect fit is something you are looking for you may want to go with a metal adjustable band. Overall, I would give this watch 5 stars. It is products like this that keep me buying Casio G-Shock watches.

The watch is prettier in person than on the site.The stainless/black/pale pink color combo makes it feel modern and cool, while the hint of pink on the face makes it just feminine enough.I have to agree with the other reviews about the fact that the time can be difficult to see from certain angles.The numbers are silvery against a frosty pink background, so the effect is a bit like looking at a message written on your bathroom mirror after it gets all fogged up by your hot shower.Very cool, but just like a message on a mirror, it can be a bit hard to see unless your eyes are looking at it pretty much straight on.For me, the effect is worth having to tilt my wrist to the right angle, but not everyone will think so. The watch is also a good size for me (I'm on the tall side, and some women's watches are just too dainty, but men's are too clunky). This watch is replacing an old casio Baby-G Shock that I had for years and never gave me trouble.So I went with the same brand again.

Casio Slim Big Number Digital Watch Model W-E10G-1AV Review

Ok, you are looking for a 'Big Number' watch to ease the strain on your tired eyes, so did I......but this cheap made in china product doesn't make it so easy to figure out what you are looking at....it, like most products these days, emphasizes style rather than utility, ie for example you may in not so good light see either a 7 or 1, and the 't' from tu/th is quite invisible in the day/date display, etc.It is, in other words, badly designed.The design and material quality of many Casio products is disappointing........just read the many negative feedbacks re watchstrap reliability!

The watch isn't all that bad.However, it does have some faults.As said before, the screen is a little hard to read, but it doesn't bother me too much.I'd rather think of it as something unique that many other watches don't have :) Another bad feature is that the watch's alarms only last for 10 seconds. Even if there is snooze for every 5 minutes, it's only 10 seconds long.

But the watch is very pretty in general with the nice and shiny stainless steel alternated with the white, plastic band.Although some may think the watch is overall too large for the female, it's smaller than many other typical ladies' baby-g watches (the gel type watches).

If you are looking for another watch just as pretty as this, but without the same band and a better screen, you can look at the MSG160L-7V product.
