It's an amazing watch, a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it's still very cool.

I would recommend anyone who likes G-Shocks to buy the G8000.

The flashing LED indicator at the 4:00 case position is a very neat addition to the G8000.

Casio Men's G Shock Atomic Digi Sports Watch #GW056A-1V Review

Since "atomic" watches contain radio receivers, they've been too big for me. This one is just slightly thicker than a standard watch. The radio reception is great. The directions say to place it near a window for setting, but when daylight savings time came, I was sleeping nowhere near a window & it was set correctly when I awoke.

It is one of the better looking digitals I've seen. The digits are well formed from lots of dots, so a 3 does not look like an 8 with some bars removed. With all the progress in LCD displays, I cannot imagine why watch makers have stuck with such antiquated technology. The buttons are in the standard places for a Casio but are recessed so it doesn't look quite as geeky. The band is preformed to curve so it fits even my skinny wrists well.

The alarm is a gentle beeping sound that stops on its own after 10 seconds or so. If you need more to wake up to, it may be too quiet. For me, it's perfect.

My only complaint is that it shows you either the month/date or the day of the week but not both at once. A single button push changes that view. It always shows you the seconds passing. All in all, a very nice watch!

On receiving the watch my first impression of the product was I was very impressed by the way it looked.
The colourful surround was far better to see than from the static photograph on the web page. My only down
side to the watch is a minor one the function to show the date is nip picking at best but I do like that
ability on a watch. That said I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to everyone interested in a different style of time peace.

Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Black Shock resistant Sports Watch #G511-1AV Review

Over the past year, I wore out four watches. My first one was an atomic watch. Hard to let that feature go, but the band was too cheaply made. The next watch was a military issue. The winding knob fell off one day. In the morning it was there. At the end of the day, it was gone. Don't know what happened to it.

I ended up getting the G-Shock. I've worn it daily for the last eight months or so. The band is still good. It's not starting to come apart. You can't even tell which eyelet I put the tongue in everyday. There's no wear at all. It's gone through barbed wire, rocks and sand. It's bumped around on humvees, helicopters and airplanes. The battery is still good and the metal still shines. There are minimal scratches.

Negative: It's a trick getting used to which button does which function. It's also a pain to change the analog time when you move across time zones. The hand only advances, there's no counter-clockwise movement for the hands. But that's really it.

I think this is the best watch I've ever had.

One of the folks that I work with also has this watch and he's the kind of guy who will spend $1000 on a watch without flinching.

It's a tough watch. It's attractive. It's not so big that it looks more like a belt buckle on your wrist. It doesn't give you altitude and it doesn't pay your taxes. It does, however, keep time with wonderful consistency. The blue/green light won't ruin your night vision.

If you are going through Amazon's catalogue like I was looking at the $400 watches and drooling. Take a break, save some cash and enjoy this watch.

I've owned several G-Shocks, and liked them all. After a few months of owning this one, though, the case broke at the base of one of the pins. I didn't even know these things COULD break.

So I sent it back to Casio for a repair estimate, and they quoted me a $35 repair even though the watch was still under warranty. When I asked why, I was told they cover only the module--the timekeeping guts of the watch--not the case or band. They didn't imply that I'd mistreated the watch (which was good, because I hadn't); they just told me no G-Shock is covered for the case falling apart.

I found this shocking. People buy G-Shocks because of their ridiculous durability--but according to Casio, if you buy one and it crumbles on the way to your car, well, tough. In other words, they make no good faith effort to ensure customers get what they think they're getting. Pretty shockingly cynical from a company I had previously respected.

I felt the only proper response was to vow never to buy their products again, and spread the word about what I think is a truly arrogant policy. I wrote them and told them so. If they change their ways, I'll be back as a customer. In the meantime, if you're buying a G-Shock because it's a tough watch, remember: it better be, because if you get a bum one, you're on your own.

Generally a nice watch with useful features, especially the analog hands that complement all of the normal digital features like stopwatch, alarms, and world times. Having the owner's manual handy is an absolute must, however, as changing and activating settings is not intuitive and the tiny print on the dial is hard to read. I really enjoy this watch and I agree with all of the pro's of the other reviewers.It's well built, solid, and wears well everyday.I'm usually pretty abusive with my watches (drops, scrapes, salt water, sweat, and the gym) and I have intentionally punished this watch to see if it lives up to all the hype.So far, no scratches on the band or mineral face.With some soap and water, this thing cleans up quickly and looks new again.

Although, I don't know about the negative review about the LCD being dim.I haven't had a problem thus far and if using the backlight, the LCD is visible in all lighting conditions (pitch black or blindingly bright).

And an additional plus, my girlfriend loves the fact that it has a very smooth surface and well rounded edges.She used to complain about how my watch band would scratch her when we held hands and such, so this is something to consider if you have the same problem.Not a complaint yet!

Love this watch, love the styling, and would buy it again if I needed to.

Watch arrived quickly and was put to use.I own several G-shock and Ironman watches.This watch has good quality throughout.Probably my favorite part of it is the module which is the same as the G-Shock DW5600 series.In essence that means the watch displays the time in stopwatch and countdown timer mode.That is useful if you want to time something and stay aware of the time of day without having to push buttons to do it.The alarm also can be set to a particular day of the month or week at a specific time in addition to the normal ad hoc alarm functionality you'd expect.G-Shocks have a softer resin protecting the watch that is actually replaceable, but most people just buy new when the resin eventually starts to crumble.This watch has a hard plastic construction that seems like it will hold up well, though is not replaceable.

Now for the rest of you that just buy watches to wear and tell the time.This it does admirably.It's accurate and reliable.It's not too thick.Reasonably nice looking for a sporty watch.It doesn't look like a can of tuna on strap.(Yeah, Seiko folk, I'm talking to you)Can take a pounding or be worn under a dress shirt.Though there are those that think that's a fashion faux paux to do so.That's their backward view, not mine. This is a great watch for someone that works outdoors or needs a tough watch for sport or job and is a good watch for someone that wants a quality digital watch in general.The legacy.The FBI director wears this same model.Search the net and you'll see.There are also photos of NASA divers wearing it as well.So it's definitely a watch that makes the grade.

Five stars for ruggedness, reliability, classic functionality and wearability.This is the Rolex Explorer of the digital world.

Casio Men's Digital Compass Twin Sensor Green Nylon Band Sport Watch #SGW100B-3V Review

I bought this watch recently and as any Casio watch its great looking and worth fully for the price tag. Compass, World timer, Stop watch, Alarm and timer features are great and easy to operate. My only complain is the thermometer which I find practically useless. The instruction manual says watch sensor needs 30 min to adjust to the atmospheric temperature. For instance if you take your watch from warm place to a cold environment it will give erroneous readings for 30 mins!! And if you are wearing your watch, you can't depend on the reading at all since body temperarture will ridiculously increase the reading even in a cold winter day! If you take off your watch and try to measure.. you have to wait 30 mins to get accurate readings. So this sensor is not useful at all for measuring temperature when you are outdoors. Other than this, I like the watch.
