Casio Women's Classic Round Analog Watch #LQ139E-7A Review

Received it quickly with a dead battery. Returned it for replacement, came quickly also with a dead battery. Returned again, Amazon paid for shipping both times with full refund of purchase price, thank goodness. Otherwise the watch was very cute with low price. I could have just changed the battery to keep the watch, but did not want to take trouble.

Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Chronograph Sport Watch #AW590-1A Review

I spent some time researching every G-Shock offered by Casio and narrowed it down to the AW590-1A for several reasons.

-> I prefer traditional battery over Tough Solar.I have read numerous negative reviews about the rechargable batteries giving out anywhere from 1-5 years and in the end are very difficult to replace.

-> This watch uses a larger CR1220 battery which Casio estimates will last about 3 years and is easily replaceable.

-> The AW590-1A uses round metal buttons, and not the cheaper rectangular plastic ones on some other G-Shocks, which can get "squeaky" and wear out.

Now on to the watch itself.You need to set the analog time separate from the digital, however they do sync up perfectly once both are set.The analog minute hand moves every 20 seconds and seems very refined.

The top led bar simply ticks off every 10 seconds while the left circle shows numeric seconds.The bottom circle shows whether certain functions are activated, like DST, alarm, snooze, hourly signal and split time in the stop watch function.The left circle does the most: in normal time mode it can be toggled to show month/date, day of the week or digital time.It has a nice resolution and also serves as the stopwatch and countdown timer.

World time is cool as only the left circle changes to show you the digital time in another time zone, while the analog stays in your home zone, allowing you to compare times instantly.

The watch has a whopping five separate alarms, one of which has a snooze function.I don't find the need to have that many alarms but some may find it useful.Countdown and stopwatch are nothing special, pretty much what you expect.

There is also an Auto LED feature which I find an unnecessary battery drainer.Once enabled, a quick upward motion of the wrist automatically causes the light to come on.I found that you can quite often set the light off unintentionally. Luckily you can disable this feature.

The physical dimensions of the watch are a good combination of form and function.The mineral crystal face is recessed nicely and protected well but still offers a clear view with a quick glance.

Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this watch to anyone who genuinely appreciates Casio's G-Shock line watches.

Casio Men's G-Shock MT-G Solar Atomic Watch #MTG910DA-1V Review

I really like mine and would highly recommend it.Many of my buddies had G-Shock watches when I was deployed to Iraq and I decided to get one when I got home.I wanted a watch that could stand up to whatever I put it through.This piece it big, black, heavy, tough, and looks good on my wrist.On top of that, it has atomic accuracy (I don't think this feature works overseas), and is solar powered.The band is metal.The face and back of the watch is also metal.There are a few plastic parts on the case, but you can't tell by looking.It's all black.The light button and ring around the face are shiny compared to the rest of the watch.This is a subtle accent.The watch and band have a slight gloss.I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it doesn't have a countdown timer and the alarm needs to be a lot louder.

Casio Men's Waveceptor Solar Atomic Ana-Digi Sport Watch #WV430DJ-1 Review

If you want a watch that's good looking and always dead-accurate to the split second without any adjustments, you won't go wrong with this one.
Here are a few observations:
It's lightweight. It weighs about half as much as the other watches I own with stainless steel wristbands, making it very comfortable to wear. The face is large with a simple clean design, making it easy to read. I do need my reading glasses for the digital display.
It's nice looking and goes with just about any kind of outfit from casual to dressy. I wouldn't wear it to the beach or with a tuxedo, but it looks pretty good with just about anything between those extremes. In the display photo, it appears to have a blue-gray face, mine is gray with a faint hint of violet rather than blue. When you look at it you basically see a gray face, but it's a warmer gray than it appears on the web. I think the real thing looks better than the picture.
It's pretty easy to set up. If you've ever set a digital watch, this isn't much different. The main difference is that you have to set the time zone you're in for the correct hour to be displayed. Once that's done, you don't have to worry about it again unless you are traveling and want to change it to different time zones. It's not a difficult procedure. One thing I really like a lot is the watch automatically resetting itself for daylight savings time! Twice a year I have to go through the tedious ritual of changing all of the clocks and watches around the house. It's nice having one wristwatch I don't have to touch. The radio controlled timekeeping works like a charm. The only potential drawback would be traveling outside the range limit of the atomic radio signal. If you are a U.S. customer, the signal range is nearly all of North America. Even if you are out of range, the watch should still keep pretty accurate time and you can always adjust it manually if you need to.
I like the idea of the battery being recharged by solar power. It doesn't require a whole lot of light to do the trick. The specifics are in the instructions. One example is five minutes of direct sunlight equals one full day of power consumption. I got this a couple of months ago during the dead of winter and I live in Minnesota, so it's dark most of the time and the watch is always covered by long sleeves when I'm wearing it. To keep the battery fully charged, I set it near a window instead of putting it in a drawer when I'm not wearing it. In the summer, normal exposure to sunlight with short sleeves when I'm out and about during the day should be more than enough light for a full charge. I should also mention that it will run for months on a full charge without additional light exposure. I'd like to say never having to replace the battery is a great feature, but to my knowledge there's no such thing as a battery with an infinite number of charge/discharge cycles. Assuming I keep and use this watch for many years to come, the battery will eventually wear out, lose it's ability to hold a charge and will have to be replaced. I'm hoping that will be a very, very long time from now.
To sum it up; the watch is no fuss, totally accurate, good looking and comfortable to wear. I can't say enough good things about it!
