Casio General Men's Watches Protrek Triple Sensor PRG-80T-7VDR - WW Review

Casio General Men's Watches Protrek Triple Sensor PRG-80T-7VDR - WWI bought this watch when it first came to market (about six months ago). It is a large watch, and it's not elegant in any stretch of the word, but it is built with self protective contours, and it's display is nothing short of awesome.

As for it's features, refer to the product description or free manual. It does everything Casio claims it can do, and does it in supurb fashion. It really is an awesome watch.

There are a couple of issues that I really want to point out though. First, the display is incredible. Even for a 51 year old like me, it is clear and sharp, no matter what mode is in play. The auto illumination mode takes it's toll on battery life, but it works like a charm, and can be turned on and off as you please. I leave it on in the summer, and switch to manual lighting in the winter. There is no pressing need to do that, but I enjoy seeing the battery charge indicator at the full mark all year long.

Just remember what I said. The display and the lighting are the best ever offered in a watch. You will be amazed. No kidding....

All of the sensor features are top notch. Don't even give them a second thought. You would be hard pressed to buy better at any price.

OK, here is the clincher for me. Casio claims that the watch is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month. My watch has been keeping perfect time with a WWV radio controlled Seiko wall clock since the day I bought it. That's about six months now. Not even a second lost or gained during the entire time. That would make it the most accurate wrist watch I ever owned. By far. I heard a rumor that Casio has added radio timesetting to the next generation of Pro Trek watches, but I have not seen any announcement from Casio,

Still, unless my Pro Trek watch is a freak of production, I suspect that the PRG-80 series is already under radio control, as I have never owned a watch that can maintain perfect synchro with a radio controlled WWV wall clock for nearly six months runnung, yet mine does it very well.

I collect Citizen and a few other brands of watches, and I'm very happy with them. That being said, no watch I have ever owned is as bullet proof, functional, or as accurate as the Casio PRG-80 series wrist watch (I have the titanium band, but it should not matter a bit. The movement and case should be the same). It is simply awesome, and I still suspect that they might be radio controlled. I have never, ever had a wrist watch this accurate in my life.

Buy one. You can still collect other brands, but if you own this one, you will own a stabdard to set all the others on for years to come.

I'd be interested to hear from others about this watch. Having a full function, easy to read watch with the accuracy of an atomic clock is beyond any expectation. The PRG-80 delivers on all of it's promises.

Jim K.

Casio Women's Baby-G Purple Jelly Shock Resistant Sports Watch #BG169-6V Review

Casio Women's Baby-G Purple Jelly Shock Resistant Sports Watch #BG169-6VI've only been wearing it for 2 days so far, but this watch has made it through two days gardening and banging around handwashing dishes no problem. I really like that this watch feels heavy-duty. I am no longer worried about dropping my watch or forgeting it's on when I jump in the shower. I am a big Disney fan and have bought countless watches disney themed only to be buying a new watch a few months down the road. I don't do much sporty stuff, but I needed a watch that wasn't gonna kick the bucket a few months down the road. As somebody else stated on the blue version of this watch, the color in the pictures aren't true to what the color actually is. The band is alot more sub-dued in color, kinda like a lavender/gray color see through jelly band, very pretty and more adult like than other sport watches with color on them. It does take a bit getting use to have a big face on the watch for me, but if it stays alive for me, I'll deal( I prefer more petite watches). If anything happens to it, I'll revise my review. :)

Casio Women's Ana-Digi Retro Square Sports Watch #LCF20-1 Review

Casio Women's Ana-Digi Retro Square Sports Watch #LCF20-1The watch is nice, but.... the display in the picture is easily visible, whereas in reality the display is dim and the watch light does not illuminate much. Also, the programming is complicated and I don't want to have to refer to the manual whenever I want to use one of the functions. In addition, with all the activity that the display has going on, I fear (perhaps unfounded, I don't know) that the battery will not last long. It's a nice watch, but there are other watches at amazon.com that I feel will be better worth the money.I'm returning it and picking out a different one.

Casio Men's Forester Ana-Digi Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-1AV Review

Casio Men's Forester Ana-Digi Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-1AVI purchased this watch for work and exercising and after using it for a day I'd say it performs admirably; one certainly cannot complain about the price. Shipping wasn't particularly cheap, but Fed Ex 2 day never is. Stopwatch and timer functions work perfectly, but appear limited to 23:59:59 at max. The daylight savings toggle is handy, and Casio allows a one or two button combination to rapidly set the analog dial in increments of about twenty seconds. The alarm is moderately loud, on par with every other Casio I've used. 30 cities to choose from for world time is a nice bonus if you care.

Some annoyances:

The 'illuminator' light ring is VERY poorly designed and appears to consist of two yellow LEDs embedded in a clear plastic ring under the outside edge of the 'crystal'. When in use, analog time is just visible but the recessed LCD screen is totally unusable. If low-light or nighttime use of the stopwatch or timer is important to you buy something with an electroluminescent face instead of this.

The 30 entry data bank function is probably very handy in a pinch, but entering letters and numbers by using the two watch buttons is incredibly slow. Use your cell phone or a little black book.

The numbers on the outside of the dial are redundant with the ticks on the inside of the dial. One or the other would be preferable for aesthetic reasons.

The battery will probably not last nearly ten years if the analog time is adjusted often or the 'illuminator' is used too often.

I prefer leather bands over resin, but that can always be swapped out at a drug store or mega mart.
