This watch is a cute little necessity. I love it. It's a great price and this is by far my favorite watch ever and I will replace it with something similar when it dies which I know won't be happening anytime soon. It is very durable and strong but beautiful. I wear it all the time.

Casio Women's Baby-G Clear Jelly Shock Resistant Sports Watch #BG169-7V Review

As an obsessive watch wearer, who does not take it easy on watches (wear it 24-7, rock climb & take care of 2 kids under 3yrs old who pull at my watch), I have wanted a "baby G" for about 5 or 6 years now.In the past I've typically worn a Timex Ironman & Triathlon.While I've never had problems with the actual timekeeping components, i can't make it more than 9-12 months on a watch band.I was hoping that perhaps since G-shocks 'thing' is it's indestructable..ness...it would carry over to the band as well. I've only had it a few weeks, so not sure how that will pan out.Seems quite sturdy.I was also pleasantly suprised to find that it doesn't look or feel as massively large on my wrist as I expected it to (though it is by far the largest watch I've ever owned).

My problems however are as follows & I suppose I should have "read the fine print" a bit more before buying...made too many 'assumptions' from being used to Timex.

1. The indiglo does not allow more than 3 seconds of light.This means that if I forget to set my alarm after I've gone to bed, I have to get up & turn on a light to do so.I realize this is to conserve battery power, but it has annoyed me more than I expected (see #3 to know why I would need to 'reset' my alarm regularly).

2. There is no 'countdown timer'!!How can this be?What kind of sports watch has only a chrono?A G-shock apparently.I use timers incessantly & this is the biggest issue I have & clearly should have checked to make sure before buying.

3. There is only one alarm option.This is also more annoying than I would have expected.I really got used to the option to be able to set 3 different alarms with my triathlon (morning alarm, "yogurt is done incubating" alarm, "time to get the kids up so you can get to the gym in time" alarm...the list goes on.I'm doing a million things at once & loose track of time easily).

4. This is not really a problem, but a thought I had so figured I'd share: the address 'book'?In the age of cell-phones...quite unnecessary.6yrs ago when I did not have a cell (I was a late adapter), I thought it was an incredibly cool feature.However,I have not even attempted to use it (it would take hours to set that up!).

5. Another feature I don't get is the 'day alarm' or whatever it's called.You can set a date (years in advance) for an alarm to go off which you can label.I suppose if i had trouble remembering my anniversary or something??

Overall, it works fine & looks great, but it does not have the functions I really need (again...sports watch!) & has a few that I really don't need (who needs their mom's phone # while jogging?).Perhaps it's just not marketed to a 29 year old mother of two trying to fit in workout schedules & feeding schedules & using a watch as cooking timer (so I can leave the house while bread is rising & not carry around an egg timer to remind me to get back home!).I'm guessing it's geared more toward highschool/early college gals who are not training for sports competition?I'm going to try to sell it on craigslist & go back to my beloved triathlon (& deal w/the "weak" bands).

***10/9/08 update:I never did get around to selling it & thus have been stuck with the things that annoy me.But thought i'd update on the resilency:It's been just over a year & i'm just as abusive to this watch as any other i've owned & all pieces are still completely intact & showing no signs of wear.However I must add that my husband apparently disagrees on the largness aspect.He thinks it's massive & is not a fan.;)hopefully this means i'll get a timex for christmas ***

Casio Women's Baby-G G-MS Cool and Tough Ana-Digi Watch #MSG300C-7B2 Review

A pity we had to send this back. It is a great looking watch face. The size is not as large as some Baby-G's (like the one my wife wore out previously and loves) which is a good thing. The problem we had was the chain strap. We were expecting an all-metal chain. The actual chain alternates between white-plastic and metal, not our cup of tea. I can see this now in the picture. The alternating chain material is much more apparent/contrasting on the actual item. We'll have to find another Baby G!

The watch is prettier in person than on the site.The stainless/black/pale pink color combo makes it feel modern and cool, while the hint of pink on the face makes it just feminine enough.I have to agree with the other reviews about the fact that the time can be difficult to see from certain angles.The numbers are silvery against a frosty pink background, so the effect is a bit like looking at a message written on your bathroom mirror after it gets all fogged up by your hot shower.Very cool, but just like a message on a mirror, it can be a bit hard to see unless your eyes are looking at it pretty much straight on.For me, the effect is worth having to tilt my wrist to the right angle, but not everyone will think so. The watch is also a good size for me (I'm on the tall side, and some women's watches are just too dainty, but men's are too clunky). This watch is replacing an old casio Baby-G Shock that I had for years and never gave me trouble.So I went with the same brand again.

The watch isn't all that bad.However, it does have some faults.As said before, the screen is a little hard to read, but it doesn't bother me too much.I'd rather think of it as something unique that many other watches don't have :) Another bad feature is that the watch's alarms only last for 10 seconds. Even if there is snooze for every 5 minutes, it's only 10 seconds long.

But the watch is very pretty in general with the nice and shiny stainless steel alternated with the white, plastic band.Although some may think the watch is overall too large for the female, it's smaller than many other typical ladies' baby-g watches (the gel type watches).

If you are looking for another watch just as pretty as this, but without the same band and a better screen, you can look at the MSG160L-7V product.

Baby-G Ladies Watch Baby-G Standard Models BG-1001-4AVDR - WW Review

This watch is great, has cool functions and is really pretty, but the pretty part will not last long.

I've had this watch for about 10 months, and after 3 month, the colors changed.

The beautiful pink turned into an ugly yellowish color.

As the pink band and case covers are a transparent pink, dirt gets below the case cover and you see big black spots of dirt which looks disgusting..

The metalic piece that covers the case, which has two rubber pieces, that avoid the glass from scratching, also gets ugly. The metalic part is covered with white painting, which peels off, and the rubber parts, from a nice white turn yellowish too.

The wrist band, although it's resin, looks peeled in several places...

I did not buy this watch from Amazon, but from a Casio dealer in my country (outside USA), and paid the equivalent of $250, which is the regular price of these kind of watches in my country.

What a big mistake!!

I've been waiting for 5 months, for a replacement of the band and cover case (to change it for a non transparent color), but they don't arrive. Casio has no kind of waranty in my country, and there are no return policies.

Now they are selling the same watch with non transparent bands, but I don't have the money to buy a new watch, especially when this one works fine. But looks ugly!!

The watch turns into an ugly yellowish colors just from sweat and sun light. No abuse to it.

I'm giving it 2 stars just because the watch works fine...

I'm extremally sorry I purchased this watch!!!

This is a large and thick watch, OK for sports/casual if you can get used to the bulk.The metal bezel is a step up from the cheap plastic Baby G's & Timex Ironman, etc.Easy to read as a previous reviewer stated.Buttons are recessed so a little challenging to set.My main complaint is if you think the watch is large, the band is HUMONGOUS.The description claims it's a cloth band but it is leather(?) on the inside, stiff & thick & doesn't breathe.I ordered a 3/4 inch nylon band which you can thread through after you cut their band off.Seems to be working well so far.

Great Watch! Comes with a lot of great features and looks nice.I use the multiple alarms for medicine reminders and have each hour marked with a two-beep sound so I can keep track of the passing hours.Even though it is a sports watch and not a fashion watch I still get numerous compliments on it.I looked and looked for a analog/digital watch with multiple alarms (this one has five!!) that was reasonably priced AND looked nice--this was the only one I found!

Casio Women's Baby-G Sweet Poison Sorbet Watch #BG2001-7A Review

I just got this watch today. Took 10 days for the free shipping to arrive which is cool. I love the color combination and the square face too. There are things though. First is that the strap/band is way too short. I clasped it at the second to the last hole. I think this watch is great for any women with a very very tiny wrist because the band was too small for my regular sized wrist. I wanted it to look bulky and bigger size but it didn't. It just made it look like a mid sized ordinary watch. Second is that the band is made of resin material, meaning it is a hard plastic and it feels awkwardly wet the minute you perspire as it brushes your skin. I took it out a few times to dry. Third, it's not user friendly when it comes to setting the date and time etc esp for people who don't like reading manuals. 4th, is that the mineral screen is way too light for anyone who has eye problems... I don't have one yet I have to squint and stare at it for awhile to check the time.... I gotta say, it's all about the looks because it does look very gorgeous... I wanted to return it but decided not to. I don't wanna pay the restocking fee... I'll still wear it though but I'll look for another bigger watch soon...

Baby-G Ladies Watch Baby-G 200M BG-3000-8CDR - WW Review

I'm a mom, a soccer coach, a student, and someone who participates in a lot of outdoor actvites. I needed an alarm, stop watch, and of course the time and date. It has all the things I needed and more. It looks nice and was so easy to set up. I knew how to work and change every setting in less than 20min. I am very tiny and it does look a bit large on me but I like the look anyway! The colors look great together and I think I can wear it when dressed casual or a bit dressier. Would recommend it and glad I bought it!
