Casio Atomic Diver Watch - Silver Review

Casio Atomic Diver Watch - SilverI just got this same model new off of ebay for $40, and it is awesome!.First of all, the watch looks even better in person than in the picture. It is slightly bigger than I expected, but I am very pleased with the size...I'm sure people will notice when i wear it, and it is very easy to read.

One negative is the light. It is a pretty weak, orange glow at the 6 o clock position. It only glows for about a second when you push the button, but it gets the job done at night if you can read fast.To offset this negative, the hands glow a lot brighter than I expected in the dark.

The only other complaint is the setup. It is very confusing and frusterating at first.I even thought I had a defective watch. However, on the Casio website under the support section, you can view a manual for the specific watch model you have.I highly suggest reading it.After about an hour, I had my watch set up and synched to the national clock.Setting the time is obnoxious, as it can take up to 11 minutes of holding down a button to get the time you want (the hands set according to the moves via the second hand, that is why it can take so long).

Now for the positives.First off, for $45, you can't go wrong. The quality of the watch for the price is really superb. The metal band is strong and thick, and the whole watch has a nice, quality feel to it.The bezel turns smoothly in one direction. The watch face is beautiful, and the hour markers look really sharp. and bold.

I really love this watch because it has the classy look and function of an anolog, but also includes the convenience of digital functions. There is an alarm, digitally controlled date (meaning you dont have to worry about 30/28 day months, or even leap years), and a beeping noise at the hour change.

Now for the atomic function.I live in New york State, about 1400 miles from Ft Collins, CO.I had no problem at all synching the watch to the national time, even though I was worried I would be out of range.Note that I did it near a window, and I have not made an observation of the synching abilities when I'm not near a window.I found it very helpful that while it automatically synchs at 1.00 am every day, it can also be manually synched at any time (consult the manual for how).

Overall, I'm very pleased. You can't find a much better deal than a Casio, considering it's quality, style, and function.
